Description
Destroying sensitive documents that you no longer need is a smart practice, but it is important to destroy the documents responsibly to protect your private information. Since shredding documents can be a lot of work, we’ve hired a professional shredding company to make it convenient for our clients to safely destroy their sensitive documents.
A shredding truck will be onsite at our office from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. Come out and help us celebrate the beginning of the end of tax season by destroying all of those extra documents getting in your way.
We will be grilling hot dogs throughout the event!
Experts suggest the following:
- Keeping supporting tax documents for 3-7 years
- Bank/credit card statements/paystubs - 1 year
- Utility bills/bank deposit slips/withdrawals- 1 month
- It's a good idea to permanently keep major financial records such as legal filings, inheritance, birth certificates, death certificates
- You can find a "Record Retention Guidelines" document on our website with more detailed information. Click here.
We hope to see you there!
