Our Process
Your Future
Financial planning comes in different forms. For our clients, we provide an affordable way to develop a plan that suits their needs. We believe in choice. We will work with you to create a financial timeline that is as broad or as detailed as you want it to be. Review our planning process in the slides below. Contact one of our financial advisors to learn more.
1. Developing Goals
During our first consultation, we'll discuss your current financial situation and where you'd like to be. We'll begin creating a financial timeline and bringing your goals into focus. At this stage, we'll explain our different planning options so you can decide how involved you want to get. We'll also let you know what information we need to move forward.
2. Information Gathering
The more information we have, the more complete your plan will be. We'll take a look at all aspects of your finances using statements and other documents you provide. This will also be a time for us to listen to you explain (and, if needed, help you define) your values, risk tolerances and other factors important to you and your plan.
3. Evaluation
Once all necessary information has been gathered, we'll evaluate your current situation in light of your goals and prepare recommendations. We believe our clients deserve options; so whenever reasonably possible, we will come up a few different options for you to consider.
4. Discuss Options
At this stage, we will get back together to discuss our assessment and recommendations for meeting your goals. If it turns out that we need to re-define your goals, we'll discuss strategies for that as well. Either way, we'll make sure you understand your options and the pros and cons of the different choices you have.
5. Design & Implement Your Plan
Once you feel confident with your decisions, we will create your own customized financial timeline. We'll begin the process of implementing your plan and clearly defining the next steps in the process.
6. Reviewing & Updating the Plan
It goes without saying that your financial timeline will require changes, as there will always be life events (expected and unexpected) that threaten to derail your plan. This is why we'll need to regularly review your plan with you - at least once annually and with every major life event. We will be here to help you plan for the life changes you expect and to help you adjust for the unexpected.
